ALL applicants must have a valid driver's license and their own transportation to ensure reliability and timely attendance.
We require a written exam to be completed with every employment application. The exams are available for download below and the National Electric Code book may be used for both the Helper and Mechanic Exams.

HELPERS
Helpers are there to do just that - help. Whether it's helping to load material, helping a mechanic keep track of his paperwork, or simply lending a helping hand to clean up after the job is completed.
When Mez Electric Company looks for helpers, what we're looking for is an apprentice - someone eager to learn. A good helper can be a mechanic's best friend, and a good mechanic can teach a helper things they won't find in any textbook.
We are affiliated with several local apprenticeship programs to help technicians further their careers. We can help you keep track of your OJT (On the Job Training) Hours in order to complete your course requirements.
We require that our Helpers have a MINIMUM of 2 - 3 years of field experience and prefer applicants that have worked on both residential and commercial projects. Service and troubleshooting experience is always a plus.

MECHANICS
There is no better resource than a well seasoned electrical technician. Because we are a FULL service electrical contractor, we look for mechanics with a wide array of job experience.
We expect ALL of our electricians to be able to perform new work, old work and troubleshoot. We look for electricians that can work on both residential and commercial projects unsupervised, read blueprints/drawings, and have good personal relations skills with both our customers and our own staff.
We require our mechanics to have a MINIMUM of 6 years of field experience, with a Journeyman's Card helpful. Electricians with underground scoping, digging and bucket truck operation experience are a plus.
